How much weight can an elevator hold?
A standard home elevator can carry up to 750
pounds.
What happens when the electricity goes out?
In a power failure, a battery-operated safety
feature makes sure passengers are never stranded between floors.
Emergency lighting comes on and the controlled safety descent feature
automatically takes the car to the lowest floor or another pre-selected
floor (some models).
Will the door ever open while the elevator is
moving?
No. A locking device on the door prevents it
from opening while the elevator is traveling between floors.
Can the landing door be opened when the elevator
is not there?
No. All landing doors are mechanically locked
and can only be released when the elevator is at that floor.
What happens if I have a problem with the elevator
and it's not during normal business hours?
Our Emergency Telephone Service lets
you talk with an ACME service technician 24 hours a day at 800/888-5267.
You're guaranteed a call back within 15 minutes.
Thanks to the computerized controller in a home elevator, we can
also solve many problems right away, over the phone, so you may
not even need a repair visit.
If I'm considering a home elevator, when should
I call you?
As soon as you start thinking about it. We
can provide design information and advise you on the best location.
We'll work with your architect or contractor from the inception of drawings to the finished result ensuring the elevator installation is as smooth and hassle-free as it can be.
Can someone come see my home and talk with
me about a custom home elevator with no obligation? What
about talking with my architect or contractor?
We're happy to talk with you, your architect
or contractor no strings attached. Just call 800/888-5267
or email us: [email protected].
