Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know which type of wheelchair lift I need?
You don't have to. Our professionals will work with you, survey your situation, discuss your needs and options, and offer their best recommendations.
When is a vertical lift a better choice than an
incline lift?
When space is available, a vertical lift is less expensive than an incline lift.
How high can the lifts travel?
  • For a vertical lift: Up to 12 feet.
  • For a incline lift, there is no limit.
  • For a portable lift, the maximum height is six feet.
How much weight can each lift hold?
  • Vertical lift: Up to 750 pounds.
  • Incline lift: Up to 450 pounds.
  • Portable lift: Up to 750 pounds.
Are lift inspections required by law?
For commercial applications — yes. The State of California and Nevada inspect all installations.
For residential homes — no. This makes your careful selection of a lift contractor more important.
Can any contractor install lifts?
No! The State of California requires contractors to have a
C11 or C61-D21 license. Nevada requires a CA-7 license. Without a license, no general contractor or any other contractor can legally install lifts.
Can someone come see my property and talk with me about installing a wheelchair lift — with no obligation?
Yes. We're happy to talk with you — no strings attached. Just call 800/888-5267 or email us: [email protected].
