Our curved stair lifts blend into your home, seamlessly.
Hi all,
We’d like to take the time to share photos from a recent installation, so you can see what it would be like to get a Curved Stair Lift in Los Angeles. This customer was referred to us from a previous customer, who also had a Stannah stair Lift installed. This customer had been struggling with the stairs and needed a new solution in order to live safer at home. Maybe you’re having trouble with the stairs too, a Stair Lift in Los Angeles could be the solution!
In the case of this customer, she looked at moving or remodeling to put her bedroom on the first floor, but she eventually decided that the stair lift was the best option, as it was much cheaper than the alternatives. You can learn more about our Stair Lift Cost here.
Now, let’s take a look at this beautiful, custom-made curved Stair Lift Los Angeles.
Double Flat 90, Curved Stair Lift
This image shows us an overhead angle, which gives us a good sense of the staircase. This home has what we call a Double Flat 90, curved staircase. Double flat meaning that there are two turns.
A curved staircase includes any and all staircases that do ANYTHING besides going straight up and down at a mostly constant angle.
Why is that? It’s all about which product models we can use. Straight stair lifts only can go on a straight rail, cut to length. Curved stair lifts travel up and downstairs on a custom-curved rail.
It’s almost always best to use a curved rail in these situations. Installing two two straight stair lifts just doesn’t make sense for someone with limited mobility. With this installation, there are two small platforms, so you’d need three separate stair lifts – three rails, three chairs, three carriages. It’s just not practical.
In general, we really don’t like putting two straights on a curved staircase. Most of the time, our customers come back and decide to take them out and put a curved unit on their stairs.

You can customize your Curved Stair Lift with our selection of colors.
It’s great when people choose this option. It can make the stair lift stand out or blend in, seamlessly. There are a few colors to choose from, so get in touch with us to learn about all of your options. We can really design a great stair lift that will complement the style of your home!
Bottom of Stairs View
This is a Stannah Stair Lift with a Siena chair. There are a couple options for Stair Lift chairs, but the most popular are the Siena (shown above) and the Starla. The Starla is a great-looking chair with more style options and safety features. It has a sensor in the seat of the chair that will keep the stair lift chair from moving until someone is securely seated in it.
See how the rail “wraps” around the bottom post there? This is called a “180 Turn and Park.” This is a great option, when space is limited and keeps space open at the bottom landing for others using the stairs. But if you want the stair lift to stop right at the bottom of the stairs, we can certainly do that as well.
Top Landing View
On the top landing we can finish the rail on or just before the platform. In this case, the stair lift travels over the last step and onto the upper landing. There is plenty of space at the top for what we call an “overrun finish”. It makes for a safer place to get on and off the stair lift.
One of the best things about Stannah Stair Lifts is how the rail blends into your home. The style, the rail color options, the upholstery…we have everything you need to find the perfect fit!
Well, that about covers it for this stair lift installation! Because the rail is custom-made, it does take about 3 weeks to get everything delivered and installed for your Stair Lift in Los Angeles. Considering that it used to take 6-8 weeks, we think that’s pretty good! Stannah has really made some fantastic improvements lately and we’re looking forward to what’s ahead!
